As a dedicated nursing and midwifery student, I have witnessed firsthand how the global health infrastructure depends on these vital professions to function. The established notion that nurses and midwives form the frontline of the healthcare industry is not just intriguing; it represents a significant area for private equity investment and WHO-backed initiatives.
In the modern landscape, these professionals serve as the essential bridge between digital health integration and patient culture. For these reasons, I chose to pursue a professional healthcare degree, a decision that has paved the way for my growth as a specialized healthcare professional. Investing in this dual qualification remains the best educational investment I have ever made, offering a unique path toward healthcare leadership and entrepreneurial success.
A look into the nursing and midwifery studies
Because states are always investing in transforming the healthcare infrastructure, nursing and midwifery remain one of the most sought-after fields globally. That said, it is frequently attributed to being the most rewarding career in this sector. However, for contributing to the same, a nursing and midwifery degree is essential.
Nursing and midwifery studies allow an individual to specialize in the delivery of health care and supporting patients. A midwife, in particular, individuals are trained pertaining to child delivery, baby’s development, and rendering support to women prior to and post-pregnancy.
The field is very different from what it appears from the outside.
No, it’s not demoralizing at all. It’s just the opposite if you have the eyes to see it and the will to dive in it. This definitely implies that being a nurse and a midwife paves the way for numerous opportunities. At least, this is what I have recognized so far in my three years of graduation.
Before getting into college, I thought that my forthcoming days might revolve around hospital wards. And, you cannot blame this thought process, for we are led to be constrained towards certain fields. Unfavorably, nursing is one of the aforementioned. But let me tell you, it has turned out to be just the opposite for me.
Ask Why? Well, because
- I have noticed various doors opening in the name of different nursing fields
- I have experienced that nursing and midwifery is not just limited to hospitals
- I have learned that this profession can be successfully integrated with entrepreneurship
Social care, mental health care, applied sciences, clinics, community health centers—the names will go on; however, the broadness of this field would not fade away.
Why wouldn’t you want to be a part of such a prominent field?
I’m not boasting around, but nursing and midwifery have a lot to do with privilege, morality, culture, and social service. The World Health Organisation (WHO) calls this profession as the one that delivers effective interventions and associates the local communities with the advancements in health care.
As a student, you’ll feel privileged to contribute to the activities like:
- Health Promotion
- Disease Prevention
- Sustainable development
- Primary care
- Community care
Most importantly, you’ll be lucky to be the one helping in the awakening of a soul.
